Google has unveiled Pixel Care+, a major upgrade to its device protection service that finally gives Pixel hardware the premium coverage it deserves.

Unlike previous iterations, this isn’t a minor tweak or rebrand – it’s a full overhaul designed to offer maximum value and peace of mind for Pixel owners.

The headline feature is simple but powerful: $0 deductibles for screen repairs and battery replacements. Pixel Care+ also covers unlimited accidental damage claims for drops and spills, plus no-cost repairs for post-warranty malfunctions. Battery swaps are included once capacity dips below 80%, and cracked front or back glass is covered (though the inner display of the Pixel Fold isn’t).

Pricing varies by device. For example, Pixel 10 plans start at $9/month or $179 for two years, while Pixel 10 Pro coverage begins at $13/month or $239 upfront. Add-on Loss and Theft protection costs slightly more and includes up to two claims per year, though it isn’t available in New York. Other accidental damage repairs carry service fees ranging from $59 to $149, depending on the model.

The program’s usability is also a major upgrade. Claims can be filed directly in the Google Store or via the My Pixel app, and if a replacement is approved, shipping can be as quick as next day. Coverage is offered both as monthly subscriptions (up to 60 months) and two-year prepaid plans. Google Fi users can simply add the plan to their existing bill, with Loss and Theft automatically bundled.

Pixel Care+ is run in partnership with Asurion, but Google has put its own stamp on the process, focusing on making self-service claims intuitive and fast. Whether this program sticks around long-term remains to be seen, but for now, Pixel owners finally have protection that rivals or even beats AppleCare+.
