Google has officially introduced the Pixel 10 family, headlined by the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and the larger Pro XL, while also debuting its first Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The unveiling took place at the 2025 Made by Google event, where the company showcased a major leap in design, performance, and AI-driven features.
Refined Design and Displays
The new Pixel 10 lineup preserves Google’s recognizable style but sharpens it with a sleeker glass-and-aluminum build. The standard Pixel 10 uses a 6.3-inch Actua Display capable of 3,000 nits peak brightness, while the Pro variants introduce Super Actua panels that push brightness to 3,300 nits. These upgrades ensure clearer visuals even in direct sunlight.
Camera Upgrades That Matter
While hardware remains similar to last year’s, Google has made camera performance a priority. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL employ a refreshed image signal processor and enhanced autofocus system, translating to steadier video and stronger low-light performance. The 50MP primary sensor now benefits from improved optical stabilization. On the base Pixel 10, the biggest surprise is a new 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and up to 20x Super Res Zoom, alongside a stabilized 48MP wide sensor and a 13MP ultrawide option. Across all models, 10-bit HDR video recording delivers richer, more lifelike footage.
Tensor G5 and Battery Boost
Performance is driven by the debut of Google’s Tensor G5 chip, manufactured by TSMC. It promises faster speeds, improved efficiency, and tighter integration with AI functions. Memory options scale from 12GB RAM on the Pixel 10 to 16GB on Pro models. Battery life also receives a lift, with capacities ranging from 4,870mAh to 5,200mAh and estimates of 30+ hours per charge. Qi2 wireless charging comes standard, and the Pro XL supports 25W charging. Google’s new magnetic Pixelsnap system simplifies wireless charging with snap-in-place alignment.
AI-Powered Everyday Features
Artificial intelligence plays a starring role in the Pixel 10. “Camera Coach” offers real-time framing tips, while “Auto Best Take” automatically selects the best facial expressions in group shots. Google’s Gemini AI assistant now runs deeper throughout the system, improving voice recognition, smart replies, and contextual suggestions.
Price and Launch Date
The Pixel 10 starts at $799 for 128GB storage, rising to $899 for 256GB. The Pixel 10 Pro begins at $999, while the Pro XL opens at $1,199. Pre-orders are already open, with shipping scheduled for August 28. Positioned against rivals like Samsung’s Galaxy S25, Google’s latest phones deliver premium hardware and AI features at competitive pricing.
