With the Made by Google event drawing near, attention is zeroing in on the Pixel 10 lineup – and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could be the star of the show.
Recent leaks suggest this foldable might finally go head-to-head with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, thanks to a blend of performance, durability, and charging upgrades.
Reliable tipster Evan Blass claims the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will support the Qi2 wireless charging standard, specifically the Baseline Power Profile (BPP) mode. This approach swaps built-in magnets for a magnetic case, allowing for a slimmer, lighter design while improving charging efficiency and stability.
Hardware leaks from WinFuture hint at some major firsts for a Google foldable. Expect UFS 4.0 storage for faster read/write speeds – available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants – paired with 16GB of RAM and the new Tensor G5 chip, built on TSMC’s 3nm process for a 36% performance boost over the Tensor G4. The device could also achieve an IP68 rating, making it the first Google foldable with full water and dust resistance, a huge step forward in durability for this category.
The battery is rumored to jump to 5,015mAh, with 23W wired and 15W wireless charging, while the cover screen gets a slight bump from 6.3 to 6.4 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate and a blistering 3,000-nit peak brightness. Cameras may remain unchanged, but the overall package looks significantly more refined.
If these leaks prove accurate, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could offer the most practical, high-performance foldable Google has ever made – and perhaps even tip the scales against Samsung’s flagship foldable.
