Google has taken another bold step in the foldable arena with the launch of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, introduced alongside the Pixel 10 lineup, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a.
The new foldable addresses some long-standing complaints by boosting battery capacity and expanding the cover display while keeping Google’s design language intact.
The device unfolds into an 8-inch LTPO OLED panel at 2076×2156 resolution, hitting a staggering 3,000 nits of peak brightness – ideal for outdoor use. On the outside, it carries a 6.4-inch LTPS OLED cover screen with the same brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Driving the performance is Google’s latest Tensor G5 processor paired with the Titan M2 chip, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage options up to 1TB.
Photography gets a professional setup: a 48MP main camera, 10.5MP ultrawide with a wide 127° FOV, and a 10.8MP telephoto capable of 5x optical zoom. Each screen houses its own 10MP selfie shooter. Powering all this is a 5,015 mAh battery – larger than its predecessor – with 30W wired charging (50% in 30 minutes) and support for the new Qi2 15W wireless charging standard.
Durability and longevity are also key selling points. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is IP68 certified, runs Android 16 at launch, and will enjoy seven years of major updates and Pixel Drops. At 10.8mm folded and 5.2mm unfolded, it’s thicker than some rivals, weighing 258g, but Google is betting that the hardware upgrades justify the heft. It comes in Moonstone gray and Jade green finishes, with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, three microphones, and connectivity standards including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC, UWB, and dual-SIM (physical + eSIM).
Pricing starts at $1,799 for 256GB, scaling up to $2,149 for the 1TB variant. Availability begins October 9 in select markets – but once again, some regions like Indonesia are left out, frustrating users who feel sidelined despite being part of a massive global smartphone audience.
In short, Google’s latest foldable packs more power, endurance, and brightness into a slightly bulkier frame – raising the question: will consumers value the practical improvements enough to overlook the thickness and limited market rollout?
