Google has officially unveiled its Pixel 10 lineup, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and the new Pixel 10 Pro XL, as well as a foldable model, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. As expected, the focus was on AI features, with the biggest highlight being the ability to transform your photos into videos directly from the phone. This was all revealed during the ‘Made by Google’ event, presented in a slightly awkward talk show format hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
Aside from the AI, another major feature that stands out is the introduction of built-in magnetic charging, or ‘Pixelsnap,’ which Google has incorporated into all of the new phones, setting them apart from most other Android devices.
The pricing is as follows: the Pixel 10 starts at $799, the Pixel 10 Pro at $999, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL at $1,199 (up from the $1,099 Pixel 9 Pro XL, now with double the storage at 256GB). The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the most expensive, priced at $1,799. The Pixel 10 comes in blue, green, a pinkish white, and black, though the Pro models have a more subdued color scheme, presumably because they cater to a more ‘professional’ audience. The Pro Fold is available only in gray and green.
While the Pixel 10 series boasts some camera improvements, the changes may not be a major leap for everyone. The Pixel 10 base model now features three cameras, including a 10.8MP telephoto lens, while the main camera drops from 50MP to 48MP, and the ultrawide camera drops slightly in field of view. The Pro models retain the same camera specs as the Pixel 9, so the real difference will come down to the new features and design.
Battery life has been bumped across all models, with the Pixel 10 Pro XL now sporting a 5,200mAh battery, up from 5,070mAh. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 also saw small battery capacity increases. The Pro Fold, in particular, gets a more significant upgrade to a 5,015mAh battery from 4,650mAh in its predecessor. Otherwise, the overall specs are quite similar to the previous Pixel generation, with only minor tweaks in storage options and battery life.
One standout feature of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is its dustproof foldable design, boasting an IP68 rating. This is a significant improvement for foldable devices, which often struggle with dust intrusion, especially around their hinges. The hinge mechanism itself has been improved to be more durable, with no gears and claims of being twice as robust as the previous generation. The internal screen size remains the same at 8 inches, but the external display has grown slightly to 6.4 inches.
The Pixel 10 lineup is powered by the new Tensor G5 chip, which Google claims offers a 34% faster CPU and a 60% improvement in local AI performance. The phones feature magnetic charging with varying speeds: 15W for the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, and 25W for the Pro Fold. Google’s Pixelsnap charging offers a more seamless experience compared to competitors like Samsung, which lacks magnetic charging in its Galaxy S25 series.
AI is a major theme across the new devices, with features like ‘Magic Cue,’ which automatically generates responses based on data from apps like Gmail, Calendar, and Google Photos. The Pixel 10 also introduces Camera Coach, which helps users improve their photography by suggesting better framing and composition. Additionally, the new phones offer up to 100x digital zoom, enhanced by AI to provide more detail than ever before.
Google also launched an AI subscription service, Google AI Pro, which provides exclusive access to advanced AI features for $19.99 per month. All four Pixel 10 models are now available for preorder, with shipping starting October 9th.

Definitely intrigued by the new camera features. Wondering how well the AI can clean up those 100x zoom shots
The AI features are very impressive, can’t wait to try them out
I like the idea of AI pulling info from my apps to reply automatically. Sounds super helpful
