gamescom 2025 is almost here, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming events of the year.
gamescom 2025: Schedule, Streams, and What to Expect
From August 19 to August 24 in Cologne, Germany, IGN will once again be the official partner for gamescom studio, delivering daily livestreams, exclusive interviews, and hands-on gameplay reveals.

This year’s Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley, promises a stacked lineup: a fresh look at Resident Evil Requiem, the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and the debut of Lords of the Fallen II. Fans will also see the opening cinematic of World of Warcraft: Midnight, and perhaps the long-awaited release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong, which will be playable at the Xbox booth on PC and the ROG Xbox Ally.

Xbox’s presence will be massive, featuring titles like Grounded 2, Keeper, Ninja Gaiden 4, Overwatch 2, and The Outer Worlds 2. The ROG Xbox Ally handhelds will be front and center, and fans are hoping for more details – possibly even pricing in the US. On the IGN side, expect exclusives for Borderlands 4, Marvel’s Deadpool VR, Anno 117: Pax Romana, Invincible VS, STALKER, and Infinity Nikki.

While Sony and Nintendo will be absent, indie and mid-tier studios are set to bring fresh experiences, from bold new concepts to fan-favorite sequels. The gamescom Award Show will also return, celebrating the best games showcased during the event.

Not everything is guaranteed to please – seasoned fans know these shows can be hit or miss – but the excitement of live demos, surprise reveals, and unfiltered gameplay moments keeps the magic alive. Whether you’re here for AAA hype, indie innovation, or just to enjoy the atmosphere, gamescom 2025 will have something for you.
