Prime Video has finally locked in a date for Fallout Season 2, and fans won’t have to wait long.
The new chapter in the post-apocalyptic saga drops on December 17, 2025, and a fresh trailer debuted during Gamescom Opening Night Live to set the tone.
Host Geoff Keighley welcomed producer Jonathan Nolan, showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and cast members Ella Purnell (Lucy) and Aaron Maten (Maximus) on stage to tease what’s next. Robertson-Dworet confirmed that Season 2 will take the story into iconic locations from Fallout: New Vegas, a fan favorite in the game series.
Purnell hinted that Lucy’s journey will become even darker: once she finds her father, she must decide between bringing him back to the Vault for accountability – or letting the wasteland’s brutal justice prevail. Walton Goggins’ fan-favorite Ghoul also looms large this season, with the show exploring how his fate intertwines with Lucy’s. Viewers will even see Cooper Howard, the man behind the Ghoul, in flashbacks to his pre-war days as he uncovers a conspiracy.
For Maximus, things aren’t getting easier. Having finally achieved his dream of becoming a Knight of the Brotherhood of Steel, he may soon realize the harsh truth behind the old saying: be careful what you wish for.
The new teaser trailer is already lighting up fan discussions thanks to its callbacks to Fallout: New Vegas. Whether Season 2 can match or even surpass the success of its debut remains to be seen, but with deeper moral dilemmas and bigger lore payoffs on the way, excitement is running high.
