Fairphone Debuts Fully Recycled Cables and High-Speed Chargers

Fairphone has unveiled a fresh lineup of eco-friendly charging accessories, including high-durability braided cables and fast chargers made entirely from recycled materials. Both the new USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 cables feature 100% recycled copper for the wiring and recycled plastics for the housing, inner jacket, and braiding.

The company claims these cables can endure over 70,000 bends and backs them with a 3-year warranty.

The cables are designed for serious performance, supporting up to 240W of power along with multiple charging protocols, including PD 3.1, EPR, PPS, and QC4+. The USB 2.0 variant, available in 1m (€19.95) and 2.5m (€24.95) lengths, does not support video output. The USB 3.2 version, priced at €34.95 for 1m, can handle up to 8K video transmission.

On the charging side, Fairphone’s new 30W USB-C fast charger offers a single Type-C port with PD 3.0 support at 30W, alongside compatibility with PPS 3.3, QC3.0, Samsung AFC, and Huawei FCP. Priced at €24.95, this model isn’t available to order yet. The flagship 65W USB-C charger adds two USB-C ports and one USB-A port, supports the same charging standards plus MediaTek’s PE+2.0, and features the same 100% recycled construction. Pricing and availability for the 65W model remain unannounced.

With its sustainable build, long-life design, and broad charging compatibility, Fairphone’s latest accessories aim to blend performance with environmental responsibility.
