Chinese Manufacturers Rush to Innovate Before Apple’s iPhone 20

Chinese phone manufacturers are racing ahead of Apple, attempting to deliver the next big thing in smartphone innovation before the iPhone. Apple, according to numerous reports, has plans to release a groundbreaking iPhone Pro model for the flagship’s 20th anniversary in 2027.

This iPhone is said to feature a flawless, edge-to-edge display, completely devoid of any cutouts or holes-something that would mark a massive step forward in smartphone design.

While Apple works on perfecting this new design, Chinese phone manufacturers are not waiting idly by. Leaked reports suggest that companies in China have already started testing advanced under-display cameras and 3D face recognition sensors, aiming to incorporate these technologies into their smartphones. With these developments already in the testing phase, it’s possible that we could see phones featuring these technologies as early as next year.

The RedMagic 10 Pro, for instance, already boasts an uninterrupted display, though Apple plans to take things even further with a phone that has virtually no bezels at all. As much as many of us criticize Apple for popularizing the notorious “notch,” the company may soon find redemption by leading the industry toward a notch-free future with its upcoming iPhone.

One key question remains, however: will Apple’s biggest rival, Samsung, jump on board? The company has recently moved away from under-display cameras with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, opting for a traditional punch-hole design. However, with Apple’s iPhone 20 (or whatever it will be called), Samsung might feel the need to revisit the idea of under-display cameras and other cutting-edge innovations.

Apple’s future plans are looking promising, with exciting new changes ahead for its smartphones. Some of the anticipated upgrades include:

  • Redesign of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max
  • Introduction of the iPhone 17 Air model
  • iPhone 18 adopting a punch-hole design
  • Possibility of a foldable iPhone next year

In the coming years, Apple users can expect some exciting advancements in phone technology, making the wait for the next iPhone well worth it.
