Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to drop on November 14, according to reliable leaker billbil-kun, confirming earlier whispers from TheGhostofHope. But there’s a twist – Nintendo Switch 2 owners are out of luck, at least for now.
Despite Microsoft’s 2023 ten-year deal with Nintendo promising to bring the series to Switch platforms, Activision Blizzard hasn’t announced a version for the upcoming console, and there’s no word on a later port.
The news comes as a surprise to many, especially since the Switch 2 is rumored to outperform PS4 and Xbox One hardware – both of which will get Black Ops 7. Still, insiders suggest there may be technical or strategic hurdles preventing an immediate release on Nintendo’s new system.
Black Ops 7 will launch in physical and digital formats for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S at €79.99, with pre-orders opening August 20 right after Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. The game is being co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, continuing the story from 2012’s Black Ops II. Players will once again step into the boots of David Mason, voiced by Milo Ventimiglia, as he and his team hunt down a manipulative adversary who weaponizes fear itself.
In addition to its single-player campaign, the game promises a robust multiplayer suite and the return of the beloved round-based cooperative Zombies mode. The developers also teased improvements to last year’s omnimovement system, aiming for smoother, more dynamic combat across all modes.
