ASUS is once again pushing the boundaries of GPU design with a teaser for its upcoming ROG Matrix edition of the GeForce RTX 5090. This new edition promises to bring something radically different to the table, featuring a unique circular shroud design with Infinity Mirror RGB lighting, a distinctive feature that ASUS first showcased with the RTX 2080 Ti.

While the exact price remains a mystery, it’s safe to say that this high-end GPU will likely retail for over $3000, considering the current pricing trends for the RTX 5090.

The teaser video shared by ASUS ROG on Facebook provides a glimpse of the new design, where the shroud is noticeably larger than the rest of the GPU, creating more room for a custom design. This design includes the Infinity Mirror that not only showcases the ROG branding but is also expected to be customizable. A second fan is visible in the video, though it is somewhat hard to see clearly. The third fan might look slightly larger, but upon closer inspection, it’s just about the same size as the others.

Unlike the ROG Matrix RTX 4090, which utilized an AIO (All-In-One) cooling solution, this new edition appears to be air-cooled. However, given that the ROG Matrix edition is typically reserved for the most premium versions of ASUS GPUs, it wouldn’t be surprising if this card also comes with an AIO cooler, similar to the RTX 2080 Ti. Additionally, the new RTX 5090 is expected to come with a high boost clock out of the box and a PCB designed for manual overclocking, allowing users to push the card to even higher frequencies.
