ASUS Unveils World’s First 4K WOLED Gaming Monitors with Dual-Mode Speeds Up to 480Hz

ASUS has just raised the bar in gaming displays, unveiling the world’s first 4K WOLED gaming monitors with ultra-high refresh rates in the new Strix OLED XG32U series.

These premium 31.5-inch screens deliver a stunning balance between sharp visuals and lightning-fast response times, thanks to their dual-mode configuration – switching between 4K and Full HD with a single tap.

The flagship ROG Strix XG32UCWMG pushes boundaries with up to 240Hz refresh rate at 4K and a blistering 480Hz at 1080p, giving competitive gamers both visual fidelity and speed without compromise. For those looking for a slightly more affordable option, the ROG Strix XG32UCWG keeps the same WOLED panel and dual-mode versatility but caps at 165Hz in 4K and 330Hz in FHD – still more than enough for smooth, immersive play.

Both monitors boast HDR10 support, true 10-bit color depth, Delta E < 2 color accuracy, and ASUS’s TrueBlack Glossy film for deep blacks and glare reduction. The slim-bezel design and ergonomic stand make them desk-friendly while offering height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. ASUS even claims a 45% smaller footprint compared to previous models.

Connectivity is modern but with a catch: HDMI 2.1 is onboard, but DisplayPort remains at version 1.4. You’ll also find USB-C with DP Alt mode, a three-port USB 3.2 hub, and handy features like Auto KVM for quick device switching and DisplayWidget Center software for customization.

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but given ASUS’s premium positioning – and the fact that GPU prices are still easing down from their astronomical highs – expect these monitors to carry a hefty tag when they land.
