ARC Raiders Won’t Return to Public Play Before October Launch

Embark Studios has confirmed that fans will have to wait until October 30th to get their hands on ARC Raiders again, as there will be no further public playtests before launch. The studio, best known for its hit free-to-play FPS The Finals, held a large-scale public test for the third-person extraction shooter back in April and dropped a major release date trailer at Summer Game Fest 2025.

Since then, however, the game has gone dark.

In a statement on the game’s official X account, Embark revealed that the team is in full ‘heads-down’ mode, focusing on polishing, expanding, and implementing lessons learned from the TT2 test. The studio also confirmed it will skip Gamescom 2025 entirely, choosing instead to keep its energy on final development rather than public events.

“Our focus is now on polishing and expanding the experience, and putting all the learnings from TT2 into action ahead of release,” the statement read. “We’re not planning any additional public tests before launch, and we want to be clear that we won’t be at Gamescom. But don’t worry-our launch campaign will be here before you know it!”

Preview impressions from Wccftech’s Alessio Palumbo earlier this year described ARC Raiders as a “promising” title that blends familiar mechanics with fresh ideas, suggesting Embark may have found an exciting formula. While the long wait until release might test players’ patience, it’s clear the studio is prioritizing a polished, high-quality debut.
