Apple is stepping up its game with the iPhone 17, taking the green color of the iPhone 15 to a whole new level. For a while now, Apple has been opting for more subtle colors on its phones, but with the iPhone 16, we saw a shift with the introduction of Ultramarine.
Now, with the iPhone 17, the company is pushing the envelope even further with a green shade that easily outshines both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16.
A leaked video showing a dummy unit of the iPhone 17 reveals how much more vibrant and lively this green is compared to the muted “Teal” hue of the iPhone 15. The iPhone 15’s color had more of a “mint” look, which made it feel less like green and more like off-white. Thankfully, Apple has fixed that with the iPhone 17, giving it a much richer, more intense green.
While the iPhone 15’s green still looked good, it often seemed more white than green. This has been a recurring issue for both Apple and Samsung, where they’ve released phones with colors so washed out that they barely differ from standard white. But the iPhone 16’s pink and Ultramarine options were a much more exciting shift.
Aside from the bold green, the iPhone 17 will also come in a more vibrant purple, outshining the muted purple of the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 Pro had a “Deep Purple” option, which looked almost black, so this new purple is a welcome improvement.
Not stopping there, Apple is introducing a fiery orange color for the iPhone 17 Pro, which is a more intense version of Desert Titanium. Although it’s not my personal favorite, it’s refreshing to see Apple experimenting with new hues for its flagship devices.
Perhaps the most intriguing new option, though, is the Liquid Glass iPhone color. This mostly white phone reflects differently depending on the lighting, making it a standout in terms of visual appeal. If this color is as striking as rumored, it could easily become the most exciting color choice of the year.
