Apple’s Future: Home Robots, Smarter Siri, and a Trust Problem

Apple is once again making headlines with rumors of a 2027 launch for a home robot and a major upgrade to Siri – dubbed the “super smart” version.

On paper, it sounds like a step into the future. In reality, some long-time Apple users aren’t sure whether to be excited or just roll their eyes.

The skepticism comes from recent history. Apple’s promise of a smarter Siri for iPhone 16 buyers still hasn’t been fulfilled, even as the iPhone 17 looms. Many Apple Intelligence features have arrived, but the long-awaited Siri overhaul remains missing in action, now rumored to appear no sooner than next spring.

For users who have grown accustomed to Apple delivering polished products, delays like these chip away at trust. Yes, their devices still work flawlessly for everyday use, but AI features often feel like they’re lagging behind rivals. Add in the fact that Apple hasn’t entered the folding phone game yet, and it’s easy to see why some tech fans feel the company’s innovation pace has slowed.

That said, Apple’s track record shows it prefers to perfect products before release. Whether that patience will pay off for Siri’s next chapter-or for an ambitious home robot-remains to be seen. For now, the excitement is muted, and the questions keep piling up.
