AMD is quietly filling out its Ryzen 9000 lineup with another budget-friendly option, the Ryzen 5 9500F. This chip recently popped up on Geekbench, showing off its six cores, twelve threads, and a base clock of 3.8 GHz with a boost up to 5.0 GHz.
It mirrors the Ryzen 5 9600 in almost every respect, except for one key difference: the 9500F lacks integrated graphics and comes with a slightly lower boost clock.
Specs-wise, the processor carries 32 MB of L3 cache, the same as the 9600, 9600X, and even last generation’s 7500F. Geekbench results show it landing right next to the 9600: 3,122 single-core and 14,369 multi-core compared to 3,166 and 14,257 on the 9600
. In short, performance is practically identical.
That raises the question of price. The 9600X already sits below $200, so the 9500F could easily undercut that – possibly sliding in under $179, which was the launch price of the 7500F. AMD seems to be targeting gamers and builders who don’t care about integrated graphics and just want a reliable six-core Zen 5 chip at the lowest possible cost.
It may not be exciting for enthusiasts waiting on something bigger, but for anyone assembling a mid-range system with a dedicated GPU, the Ryzen 5 9500F could be the new go-to budget CPU.
