OnePlus 15R: Geekbench Listing Reveals A Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Powerhouse
A fresh listing on Geekbench has practically confirmed the core hardware of the phone ahead of its expected global debut on December 17, giving us a clear picture of where this “R” variant will sit next to the standard OnePlus 15.

The device spotted on Geekbench carries the model number CPH2767, widely believed to be the OnePlus 15R. According to the benchmark entry, the phone is running Android 16 out of the box and is paired with 12 GB of RAM, which should be plenty for demanding users who juggle gaming, social apps, and heavy multitasking. At the heart of the 15R sits Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the latest flagship chipset promising big gains in CPU and GPU efficiency over the previous generation.

The early scores back that up: the listing shows around 2,846 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and roughly 9,775 points in multi-core, numbers that comfortably place the 15R among the fastest Android phones expected this cycle. While synthetic benchmarks never tell the whole story, they do hint that day-to-day performance, from high-refresh gaming to camera processing, should feel snappy and consistent.

Under the skin, the 15R is largely expected to be a global rebrand of the OnePlus Ace 6T recently launched in China. That means a spec sheet focused on speed: a flat display with an ultra-smooth 165 Hz refresh rate, a dedicated display chip to stabilise frame rates, and a custom G2 Wi-Fi chip designed to keep latency low during online matches or big downloads. OnePlus has also teased an unusually comprehensive durability package with IP66, IP68, IP69 and even IP69K protection, signalling that dust, rain and even high-pressure water jets should not be a problem.

Storage and camera choices will likely spark the most debate among fans. Many power users are hoping for a 512 GB configuration to sit alongside the usual 256 GB base option, since modern games, 4K video and years of photos can fill smaller drives quickly. On the camera side, leaks suggest OnePlus will once again skip a dedicated telephoto lens and keep a 16 MP selfie camera, a combo that some loyal users already call too safe for a 2025 performance phone. Wireless charging and trendy Qi2 magnetic accessories are also rumoured to be missing, which may disappoint buyers who have invested in modern charging ecosystems.

Pricing remains under wraps, but the positioning of the OnePlus 15R hints at a slightly more affordable alternative to the full-fat OnePlus 15 5G, which in many markets starts around the upper-mid flagship bracket. If OnePlus can combine that aggressive pricing with the leaked performance, rugged IP ratings and high-refresh display, the 15R could be one of the most balanced performance for the money devices of the coming season – even if spec purists keep grumbling about storage tiers, missing telephoto hardware and the lack of cutting-edge wireless charging tricks.

Geekbench numbers are nice but I just hope this thing doesn’t cook itself like some older 8 gen chips did 😅
