The Poco F8 lineup is still officially under wraps, but the curtain is already lifting fast. After a detailed leak of the Poco F8 Ultra, the more compact Poco F8 Pro has now had its full spec sheet exposed, giving us a very clear idea of what Poco’s next so-called flagship killer will look like before it is unveiled globally in Bali, Indonesia on November 26.

Poco had already teased the broad strokes of the F8 Pro: a powerful new chipset, a big battery and a fast display.

The latest leak fills in the gaps, especially around the camera system and build quality, and it paints a picture of a phone that is trying to punch above its price class while still cutting a few corners in classic Poco fashion.

On the front, the Poco F8 Pro reportedly carries a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED panel using LTPS technology, with a crisp Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. That means smooth scrolling and gaming, but without the extra power savings of LTPO – something many enthusiasts were hoping for in 2025. It’s still a very solid screen on paper, just not the adaptive-refresh champion some users wanted.

Performance and storage should be no bottleneck. The F8 Pro is said to pair a high-end chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, the same bleeding-edge standard used in today’s top-tier flagships. That combination promises fast app launches, quick game loads and future-proof performance. Ironically, leaks and community chatter suggest Poco may still stick to a basic USB 2.0 port, which feels badly outdated next to UFS 4.0 – especially for people who regularly transfer large files or rely on wired Android Auto.

The camera setup is where the F8 Pro quietly becomes far more serious than its predecessors. On the back, the phone is expected to ship with a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, and an 8 MP ultrawide. For the first time in this mid-range Poco line, a proper telephoto lens joins the party, which should dramatically improve portraits, zoomed-in shots at concerts or sports events, and give the camera system more versatility overall. Selfie duties are handled by a 20 MP front camera, more than enough for sharp social media shots and clear video calls.

Charging and durability are equally ambitious. The Poco F8 Pro is tipped to support 100 W fast wired charging, allowing the battery to top up extremely quickly compared to many rivals. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner replaces the more common optical solution, making unlocks faster and more reliable, even if your fingers are slightly wet or dirty. The phone also carries an IP69 rating, which is unusually high for this category, signaling serious resistance to dust and high-pressure water jets – reassuring if you’re clumsy or live in harsher climates.

Build quality looks premium too, with a solid metal frame and audio tuned under the “Sound by Bose” branding, suggesting that Poco wants the F8 Pro to feel and sound more like a flagship than a budget racer. At around 199 g, the device should offer a reassuring heft without feeling brick-like in the hand.

Color options, however, might split opinions. According to the leak, the Poco F8 Pro will be available in three relatively conservative finishes, including a gray tone and a light blue or cyan shade. Some long-time Poco fans are already lamenting the move away from the brand’s bold yellow identity, arguing that if you’re going to make a Poco, a black-and-yellow two-tone variant or a louder red, green or full-yellow version would better reflect the brand’s playful character. For many users, that means cases will once again be the main way to bring personality to the device.

Speaking of cases, flat rear panels and camera bumps remain a practical concern. With the F8 Pro’s periscope module, the camera island is likely to protrude noticeably. Users who hate a wobbly phone on a table will probably reach for stiff cases that even out the back and reduce rocking, just as many did with the Poco F5 and countless other phones. It’s a small usability detail, but one that daily users care about far more than marketing slides.

On the software side, the Poco F8 Pro is expected to ship with Android 16 running underneath HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s latest software skin. Combined with the fast hardware, that should mean long-term support, snappy animations and a fairly modern feature set out of the box.

Taken together, the Poco F8 Pro is shaping up to be a very aggressive mid-range contender: a fast AMOLED display, flagship-grade memory and storage, a long-awaited periscope telephoto camera, 100 W charging, IP69 protection and Bose-branded audio, all wrapped in a metal frame. Yet, if the leaks about USB 2.0 and the lack of LTPO are true, there will be plenty of fuel for debate among enthusiasts. The answers to the remaining questions – final pricing, regional availability and confirmation of those last-minute details – will arrive when Poco finally lifts the lid on the F8 series in Bali.

Been using black phones forever, even my old Nokias looked better in black. Poco should really do a proper yellow + black combo, that’s their whole vibe
