Poco is getting ready for one of its most important launches of the year, and the F8 line is clearly meant to shake up the affordable flagship space. The company has now confirmed the brains behind both phones ahead of their global debut on November 26, and the early details paint a picture of two aggressively tuned performance machines wrapped in very familiar Redmi inspired hardware.

Flagship Snapdragon power for both F8 models

The star of the show is the Poco F8 Ultra, which ships with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform.

This is Poco’s way of saying that the Ultra is the no compromise option in the family, aimed at users who max out settings in games and push their phones with heavy multitasking and creative apps. The regular Poco F8 Pro is no slouch either, running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, still a true flagship class chipset that should comfortably handle demanding workloads and high refresh rate displays without breaking a sweat.

VisionBoost D8 for sharper visuals and AI tricks

Where the Ultra tries to stand apart is not only raw power but how it uses that power. Poco is adding a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset, a companion chip designed to handle image processing and AI based enhancements. In practice, that should mean finer detail in photos and video, cleaner low light scenes, and more convincing AI upscaling in supported apps and games. Offloading these tasks from the main Snapdragon chip can also help keep performance more consistent over long gaming sessions, with lower heat and fewer throttling spikes.

Redmi K90 vibes and Bose tuned 2.1 audio

On the outside, the F8 Ultra and F8 Pro follow a design language that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has seen the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max. Flat sides, a bold camera island and bright color options lean into Poco’s gaming friendly identity. The surprise twist is audio: the F8 Ultra is set to feature a 2.1 speaker system with a separate rear woofer, tuned in partnership with Bose. If Poco delivers on that promise, this could be one of the loudest and punchiest sound setups on any mainstream phone, ideal for gaming, streaming and casual music listening without headphones.

What the community already wants from the F8 series

Even before launch, fans are making their wishlists. One recurring demand is a proper USB 3 port for faster file transfers and better support for external storage, turning the F8 into a surprisingly capable little torrent box or travel media hub. Others are hoping Poco finally cleans up its default icon pack and visual theme, which some users still call one of the ugliest out of the box looks in the Android world, especially when compared with the more polished styling on sibling Redmi models. There is also the usual chipset debate, with some enthusiasts wondering whether rival brands will jump on upcoming Dimensity 9500 series silicon while Poco doubles down on Snapdragon for this generation. And of course, questions about serious water resistance keep popping up, as buyers increasingly expect at least solid splash protection on phones marketed as performance flagships. What is clear is that the F8 Ultra and F8 Pro have already grabbed attention; now everyone is waiting to see whether the final reviews match the hype around these aggressively specced Poco flagships.

Snapdragon again huh, sad that nobody is touching dimensity 9500 yet, that chip could be wild if someone actually used it right
