The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is edging closer to launch, and the clearest sign yet comes from China’s 3C (China Compulsory Certification) database.
Two model numbers have appeared: 2512BPNDAC (standard, no satellite link) and 25128PNA1C (with satellite connectivity). 3C listings are primarily about safety and charging specs, but they reliably tip a device’s core charging capabilities and confirm that mass production is moving forward.
100W wired charging, officially in sight
Both versions are certified for 100W wired charging, a modest but meaningful step up from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s 90W introduced in February. A 10W bump won’t rewrite physics, yet it can shave minutes off a full refill and, more importantly, signals Xiaomi’s continuing focus on fast, safe charging. Expect refined thermal management and battery longevity algorithms to keep that speed sustainable across daily use.
Satellite variant: why it matters
The satellite-enabled model aligns with the broader industry push toward off-grid communication for emergencies and remote travel. While Xiaomi hasn’t detailed features, the certification effectively validates earlier rumors: the Ultra family will include a version capable of connecting beyond terrestrial networks for SOS messaging and basic data when coverage drops.
Camera expectations: new 50 MP main, novel 200 MP tele-macro
On imaging, the 17 Ultra is tipped to debut a new 50 MP main sensor with improved in-sensor zoom processing – think cleaner crops and less reliance on digital interpolation. Equally intriguing is a 200 MP telephoto macro camera, a hybrid idea aimed at delivering reach plus close-up detail without swapping lenses. Rounding out the quartet is an ultrawide and a secondary zoom module, keeping Xiaomi’s Ultra formula of versatility intact.
Chipset and performance
It would be a shock if anything other than Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powered this device. Qualcomm’s newest flagship silicon should bring gains in CPU/GPU performance, AI acceleration, and power efficiency – all crucial for sustaining high-refresh displays, advanced computational photography, and 100W charging without thermal throttling.
What to watch next
China will almost certainly see the 17 Ultra first, following the launches of the 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. Still unknowns include battery capacity, wireless charging speeds, and global rollout timing. But with 3C certification in place, the contours are clear: faster charging, a satellite-ready variant, and ambitious camera hardware that leans into Xiaomi’s Ultra identity.
