Bethesda is once again dusting off one of its most iconic titles with a celebratory re-release: Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition. Announced during the annual Fallout Day event, this refreshed edition marks the tenth anniversary of Fallout 4’s original 2015 debut. It’s set to arrive on November 10, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S – and yes, a Nintendo Switch 2 version is coming later in 2026.
This isn’t just a lazy repackaging.
Bethesda promises that the Anniversary Edition will be the definitive Fallout 4 experience. It includes all six major expansions – Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop, and Nuka-World – along with over 150 Creation Club items. That means everything from official weapons and armor packs to entire questlines and new gameplay mechanics are baked in from the start. For players who love to tinker, there’s also a brand-new in-game Creations menu, letting you browse, install, and manage additional mods without leaving the game.
Owners of Fallout 4 – including those who play it through PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass – will be able to upgrade to the Anniversary Edition via two separate options. Bethesda hasn’t shared the pricing or upgrade details yet, but given the company’s history with Skyrim’s endless editions, it’s a safe bet that there’ll be both a digital upgrade path and a complete standalone release.
Visually, the Anniversary Edition inherits the substantial graphical overhaul that arrived in April 2024. That means upgraded lighting, improved textures, better performance, and native support for 4K and 60 FPS on modern consoles. In other words, this edition fully replaces the older Game of the Year Edition as the new all-in-one version of Fallout 4.
Outside the Commonwealth, Bethesda has more in store for the Fallout universe. Fallout: New Vegas is getting a physical anniversary bundle, while Fallout 76 is expanding its map to Ohio on December 2 – a launch timed to coincide with Season 2 of Amazon’s hit Fallout series. The company also kicked off a massive franchise sale across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, making it a perfect moment for newcomers to dive into the irradiated wasteland.
However, amid all the celebration, one question lingers like a radstorm: where is Fallout 5? Fans have been waiting nearly a decade, and with Bethesda’s next major focus being The Elder Scrolls VI, it seems Fallout 5 is still far down the pipeline. By the time it enters full production, we may already be talking about the next generation of hardware. The wait might stretch into the 2030s, but if the studio can capture the magic that made Fallout 3 and New Vegas timeless, then maybe – just maybe – it’ll be worth it.
Until then, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition looks like the ultimate excuse to return to the Wasteland – whether you’re scavenging for duct tape, building your dream settlement, or just reuniting with Dogmeat for another long walk through the ruins of Boston.

Can’t wait to try it on Switch 2… portable wasteland time!
I swear they’re allergic to making new games. Just remaster the old ones forever 🤣
