Realme’s upcoming GT 8 Pro seems to have sparked a quiet but intense battle within the BBK Electronics family – a clash that’s less about specs and more about timing and perception. According to several reports, Realme originally intended to unveil the GT 8 Pro globally between November 18 and 20. However, with OnePlus gearing up for the global debut of its OnePlus 15 on November 13, Realme apparently decided to move its own event to an earlier slot, rumored between November 10 and 12 – most likely November 11.
That’s just a few days’ difference, yet it speaks volumes about how seriously these brands take each other’s presence.
This shift suggests Realme clearly sees the OnePlus 15 as its primary competitor. Both companies share the same parent, but their rivalry feels more like two siblings fighting for independence than internal coordination. Some observers even note it’s less of a business decision and more of a statement – Realme wanting to prove it’s no longer the ‘budget brand little brother.’
The GT 8 Pro will reportedly feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, making it one of the first devices in India to use Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor. Alongside that, the phone is rumored to include up to 16GB of RAM, a 50MP Sony Lytia LYT-700 main camera, and a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 periscope telephoto sensor – an impressive imaging duo. The display is expected to be a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel with QHD+ resolution and an enormous 8,000 mAh battery, promising exceptional endurance.
Interestingly, Realme also announced a new collaboration with Ricoh in China – a move that mirrors OnePlus’s past partnerships with Hasselblad. As OnePlus shifts away from that collaboration, Realme seems eager to fill the gap with its own imaging alliance, hinting at a bigger push toward camera credibility. Whether this early launch gives Realme a marketing edge or just another headline remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Realme’s GT 8 Pro isn’t just another flagship – it’s a statement of ambition within its own corporate family.
