Motorola is preparing to strengthen its budget-friendly smartphone lineup in India with the upcoming launch of the Moto G06 Power. Originally announced in early September, the device has been teased by Motorola India through a promotional post on X (formerly Twitter).

While the company has not disclosed an official release date, the teaser hints at an imminent arrival, highlighting the phone’s focus on endurance and all-day usability.

The teaser prominently emphasizes the word “power,” which aligns perfectly with the G06 Power branding. The shared image also reveals a camera island design identical to earlier global announcements, leaving little doubt that this is indeed the G06 Power heading to the Indian market. Although buyers must wait a little longer for the official date, the message is clear: the launch is right around the corner.

Spec-wise, the Moto G06 Power positions itself as an affordable powerhouse. It features a 6.88-inch LCD panel with a 720 x 1640 resolution, supporting a smooth 120Hz refresh rate that enhances scrolling, gaming, and streaming experiences. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, which is paired with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM, depending on the variant, making it versatile for different budgets. Storage options scale from 64GB to a spacious 256GB, ensuring enough room for apps, photos, and offline videos.

On the imaging front, Motorola equips the G06 Power with a 50MP primary rear sensor aimed at delivering reliable results in well-lit conditions, complemented by an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. However, what truly distinguishes the phone is its massive 7,000 mAh battery, one of the largest in its segment. This is complemented by 18W wired charging, which, while not blazing fast, is respectable given the enormous cell size. The giant battery is expected to appeal to users who prioritize longevity – particularly those who rely heavily on their devices for streaming, gaming marathons, or extended work sessions on the go.

Interestingly, the Moto G06 Power ships with Android 15 out of the box. While this ensures a relatively modern OS, some may find it disappointing that Motorola has not opted for Android 16, which Google officially released back in June. This decision might raise questions about the company’s update roadmap, especially in a competitive segment where software support is becoming increasingly important to buyers.

Despite this drawback, the Moto G06 Power appears to target practical users who care about durability, display smoothness, and battery endurance rather than chasing premium specs. With its imminent Indian debut, it may carve out a niche for itself among budget-conscious buyers who want a dependable everyday driver without worrying about constant recharging.
