Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 15T, the second model in this year’s T series lineup, positioned as the non-Pro sibling of the Xiaomi 15T Pro. While it carries the “vanilla” badge, the 15T is far from a stripped-down device – in fact, at first glance, you’ll struggle to find noticeable differences compared to the Pro version.
Both phones share a nearly identical design language, display dimensions, and overall form factor, making the 15T look and feel every bit as premium.
The Xiaomi 15T is available in two elegant finishes – a classic Black and a Rose Gold option, the latter reminiscent of the warm-toned Mocha Brown that debuted on the 15T Pro. The phone retains a robust build with Gorilla Glass 7i protection, ensuring durability while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic.
When it comes to display technology, Xiaomi has kept the experience highly competitive. The 15T features a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2772×1280 pixels. While the refresh rate is capped at 120Hz (as opposed to the Pro’s faster offering), the screen still boasts an impressive 480Hz touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, ensuring smooth visuals, excellent responsiveness, and strong outdoor readability.
On the photography side, the 15T inherits the proven triple-camera system from the previous 14T generation. This setup includes two 50 MP sensors – a 23mm wide-angle with f/1.7 aperture and a 46mm 2x telephoto with f/1.9 – alongside a 12 MP ultrawide camera at 15mm f/2.2. While the optics may look unchanged on paper, Xiaomi has integrated its Xiaomi AISP 2.0 computational photography pipeline. This new processing engine aims to refine color reproduction, dynamic range, and tonal balance, addressing one of the key areas where software optimization now plays a bigger role than pure hardware.
One of the most intriguing innovations is the debut of Astral Communication, powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity chipset. This technology includes the new Xiaomi Offline Communication feature, allowing two Xiaomi 15T devices to connect directly without relying on cellular networks or Wi-Fi. According to Xiaomi, two 15T units can maintain communication at distances up to 1.3km, while 15T Pro devices stretch this range to 1.9km. The underlying technical mechanism hasn’t been fully disclosed yet, but if reliable in real-world conditions, this could mark a significant leap for peer-to-peer connectivity, especially in emergency or off-grid scenarios.
As for availability, the Xiaomi 15T starts at €650 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, positioning it competitively in the upper mid-range/flagship killer segment. With a generous memory configuration and feature set, it stands out as a balanced offering for users who want flagship-grade features without the Pro’s premium pricing. For those needing more, a 512GB storage variant is also on sale in select markets.
With a strong mix of cutting-edge display, refined camera processing, unique offline connectivity, and a price point designed to undercut many rivals, the Xiaomi 15T looks set to become one of the most talked-about devices in the latter half of the year. We’ll be diving deeper into its performance, battery life, and real-world usability in our full review, so stay tuned.
