Tecno has finally lifted the curtain on its two highly anticipated smartphones, the Tecno Spark Slim and Tecno Pova Slim, after initially teasing them ahead of IFA Berlin earlier this month.
While the company held back full specifications during the announcement, all the details are now out, and both devices look set to draw attention in the mid-range market.
At first glance, the two handsets share many core specifications, most notably their striking 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display. The screen supports a sharp 1220p resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, making it attractive for users who consume a lot of video content or enjoy mobile gaming. Brightness is another highlight: Tecno claims an impressive 4,500 nits peak brightness with 1,600 nits available in high brightness mode. To add durability, both displays are shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
The rear of the phones carries a minimalistic design but comes loaded with a dual-camera system: a 50 MP main sensor paired with a 2 MP depth lens
. Tecno has also integrated its Mood Light LED feature, giving the camera setup a unique flair. On the front, users will find a 13 MP selfie shooter, capable of handling both casual photography and clear video calls.
The biggest difference between the two models lies under the hood. The Spark Slim is powered by the MediaTek Helio G200 chipset, designed for 4G performance, while the Pova Slim upgrades to the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 5G+ processor, ensuring next-gen connectivity. Both smartphones will ship with Android 15 straight out of the box, offering users the latest software experience without waiting for updates.
In terms of memory and storage, Tecno has positioned the two handsets fairly generously. The Spark Slim comes in Sky Blue, Slim White, and Cool Black colors with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The Pova Slim is slightly more streamlined in its options, arriving in Slim White and Cool Black, but also featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB storage capacity.
Battery performance should be a strong point for both. Each phone carries a 5,160 mAh battery, paired with 45W fast charging, which promises respectable endurance alongside rapid recharging times. Additional features include dual speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos for immersive audio, a vapor cooling chamber for heat management during demanding tasks, and an IP64 rating for protection against dust and splashes. The slimness of these devices is also notable: the Spark Slim measures 5.93mm thick, while the Pova Slim is just slightly thicker at 5.95mm. Both weigh only 156 grams, making them among the lighter devices in their class.
As of now, Tecno has not disclosed pricing or availability information, which leaves one key piece of the puzzle missing. Given the specifications, the Spark Slim is likely to target budget-conscious buyers who still want premium display quality, while the Pova Slim – with its 5G capability – positions itself as a forward-looking choice for those who want faster network speeds and slightly better performance.
With Tecno’s growing global footprint and its recent push into Europe and Asia, both models could play an important role in expanding the brand’s reputation. Once pricing details surface, we will get a clearer idea of how aggressively Tecno intends to compete with established players in the mid-range segment.
