Tecno has officially pulled back the curtain on its new 12-inch MegaPad Pro, a device the company positions as more than just a tablet.
Branded as an “Essential AI Tablet,” the MegaPad Pro is designed to handle both productivity and entertainment tasks with a mix of smart features and serious hardware. Tecno isn’t simply aiming to compete in the budget tablet arena; it wants to build a platform that balances AI, performance, and portability.
For students, the MegaPad Pro promises to be more than a note-taking tool. Tecno highlights features like AI-assisted study organization, collaborative assignment work, and tools that can automate repetitive tasks. Business professionals, on the other hand, are likely to appreciate its ability to manage presentations, emails, and documents while also offering a dedicated AI key to quickly call up Tecno’s Ella Assistant.
On the hardware side, the MegaPad Pro comes equipped with a 12-inch 2K Ultra Sensory Display capable of hitting 450 nits brightness and running at a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Whether you are streaming Netflix, attending a video call, or editing files, visuals remain sharp and fluid. Supporting the display are four Dolby-enabled speakers tuned for immersive sound, making the tablet equally competent for entertainment and productivity.
Battery life is another headline feature. Tecno has included a massive 10,000mAh battery, claiming up to 8 hours of demanding use, ensuring the MegaPad Pro can survive a full day of heavy multitasking, video playback, and conference calls without constant recharging.
Tecno didn’t stop at tablets. At IFA, the company also announced that its lineup of laptops is expanding into Europe. The MegaBook K15S and K16S, alongside the compact Mega Mini G1 gaming mini-PC, will first be available in Spain and France. The timing aligns neatly with the back-to-school shopping season, making the devices attractive for both students and young professionals. Distribution will be handled through MCR, with availability at popular retail giants such as MediaMarkt and Carrefour.
Looking forward, Tecno teased the arrival of its ultra-light MegaBook S14 laptop, weighing only 899 grams despite packing a 14-inch OLED AI-enhanced display. This model, touted as the lightest of its kind in the industry, is scheduled to hit select European markets in Q4 2025, reinforcing Tecno’s strategy to steadily build a presence in the competitive laptop market while pushing design boundaries.
By blending AI-driven tools with stylish yet practical hardware, Tecno is making a bold statement: it intends to be more than a niche brand, but a serious contender in Europe’s consumer tech scene.
