NVIDIA is set to make a major leap forward in cloud gaming as GeForce NOW prepares to roll out its long-awaited RTX Blackwell update next week. Starting Wednesday, September 10, the company will begin upgrading its cloud infrastructure to GeForce RTX 5080-class GPUs paired with improved CPUs. Just like previous overhauls, the rollout will be gradual, meaning not every region will see the new power instantly, but the promise of a next-generation experience is finally becoming reality.
The RTX Blackwell update isn’t simply about raw horsepower.
As highlighted during Gamescom 2025, NVIDIA is layering in a suite of enhancements aimed at redefining the user experience. Cinematic Quality Streaming is designed to push visual fidelity to new heights, while Rivermax hardware packet pacing and L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput) work together to slash input lag and keep gameplay responsive even in the most demanding titles. On the compatibility front, improved support for racing wheel peripherals will be a welcome addition for simulation fans, and Steam’s Install-to-Play will make accessing new games faster and smoother than ever.
And the timing of this upgrade couldn’t be more fitting. September is shaping up to be one of the busiest release months in recent memory for PC gaming, and GeForce NOW subscribers will be right in the thick of it. This week alone introduces METAL EDEN, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Cataclismo, Hell is Us, and Cronos: The New Dawn to the cloud library. Both Hell is Us and Cronos: The New Dawn support NVIDIA’s cutting-edge DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, which means that Ultimate-tier subscribers located near upgraded servers can activate it as soon as the Blackwell hardware goes live.
NVIDIA also shared a roadmap of upcoming titles arriving throughout September, and it’s a lineup that covers nearly every genre imaginable. Players can look forward to Firefighting Simulator: Ignite on September 9, followed by the blockbuster Borderlands 4 dropping September 11 across Steam and the Epic Games Store. Strategy enthusiasts will get Fata Deum – The God Sim on September 15, while action-horror fans can dive into Dying Light: The Beast on September 19. That same day brings two more launches: Jump Space and Warborne Above Ashes. The month continues with Endless Legend 2 on September 22, the quirky Baby Steps and Aztecs: The Last Sun on September 23, Lost Rift on September 25, Cloverpit on September 26, and closes out with the much-anticipated Predecessor.
All in all, the RTX Blackwell update represents a decisive step in GeForce NOW’s mission to deliver top-tier gaming experiences without the need for high-end hardware at home. With technical upgrades across streaming, latency, and compatibility – plus a release schedule packed with headline-making titles – September 2025 is set to mark a turning point for cloud gaming enthusiasts.
