NVIDIA is once again in the spotlight for its pricing strategy, as reports suggest the company has deliberately reduced shipments of its GeForce RTX 5060 series GPUs to board partners. While the overall supply of the RTX 50 family has recently stabilized after a rocky launch period, the graphics giant seems determined to avoid the pitfalls of oversupply – and the price drops that inevitably follow.
According to sources cited by Channel Gate and IT Home, NVIDIA has scaled back deliveries of both the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti models. 
The move is aimed at protecting price stability across the mid-range segment, an area where competition between AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA is particularly fierce. The adjustment appears quite surgical: estimates indicate that supply for the RTX 5060 Ti has been trimmed by about 15%, while the RTX 5060 faces a sharper reduction of roughly 30%.
What makes this decision striking is that NVIDIA’s board partners are reportedly already holding ample inventory of these cards. Rather than risk stockpiles pushing street prices downward, the company is proactively tightening distribution. The goal is to ensure that neither NVIDIA nor its partners are forced into margin-eroding discounts, keeping the perceived value of the new GPUs intact. This mirrors previous tactics the company used earlier this year when RTX 50 series availability first became widespread, only to be subtly reeled back to maintain pricing power.
The impact is likely to be felt most strongly in the mainstream gaming market. The RTX 5060 series, built on the GB206 chip, represents NVIDIA’s push for affordable yet capable GPUs, with the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB version especially appealing to gamers who want a balance between price and performance. However, the supply cut will only target the 8 GB variant, leaving the 16 GB option unaffected – perhaps a hint that NVIDIA is nudging consumers toward the higher-memory configuration to future-proof their purchase.
In practical terms, gamers could soon notice firmer price tags at retailers. With limited new stock arriving, existing units are expected to maintain or even climb above their launch prices.
