Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup has been a topic of much speculation, particularly concerning potential price hikes. While rumors have circulated that the new devices might come with increased prices, a recent report from JPMorgan sheds new light on the situation, suggesting the price changes may not be as dramatic as initially feared. According to the latest research, only one iPhone 17 model will see a price increase: the iPhone 17 Pro. The new Pro model will come with a $100 price hike compared to its predecessor, but it will also come with a substantial upgrade in storage.
iPhone 17 Price Update: What to Expect from Apple’s New Devices
The base model of the iPhone 17 Pro will now feature 256GB of storage, which is double the 128GB that the iPhone 16 Pro offered at the same price. So, when you compare the new Pro with the previous version, the price difference is essentially offset by the increased storage capacity, making it a more valuable deal overall.

As for the other models, the iPhone 17 is expected to stay at its previous starting price of $799, which is consistent with the iPhone 16’s launch price. The iPhone 17 Air, which is replacing the iPhone 16 Plus, might either maintain the same price of $899 or see a modest increase of $50, making the new starting price $949. Apple might justify this slight increase by pointing to the significant R&D efforts required to design a slimmer, more efficient device. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is not expected to receive any price increase and will remain at the $1,199 starting price with 256GB of storage, offering great value for those seeking top-tier performance.

This pricing structure would be a positive development for the US market, where these prices are expected to apply, but it remains to be seen whether there will be any price hikes in international markets. Apple fans in Europe, for example, are bracing for potential price increases, as the company often charges more in certain regions due to taxes and other factors. Nonetheless, the wait is almost over. With Apple’s official unveiling of the iPhone 17 set for September 9, we won’t have to wait long to find out if these price predictions hold true.

iPhone prices keep going up, but I guess at least the pro models come with more storage now so it’s not all bad. 🤔

Lol they just love to charge more everywhere, especially in Europe 😂. Guess we’re paying for that R&D!
