Samsung has reached a significant milestone in the semiconductor race: its Exynos 2600 chipset, built on a cutting-edge 2nm process, is now reportedly ready for mass production.
If this holds, Samsung will be the first company in the world to deliver a mobile SoC manufactured at such a scale, marking a bold move to reclaim ground in a fiercely competitive industry dominated by TSMC and Qualcomm.
Recent Geekbench leaks already hinted at noticeable performance gains, and now Korean reports confirm that Samsung’s foundries have finalized the production stage. The only remaining question is whether the Exynos 2600 will power all, some, or none of the upcoming Galaxy S26 models. Samsung is expected to decide in Q4 this year, between October and December, leaving enthusiasts guessing until closer to launch.
Industry chatter paints the Exynos 2600 as more than just an incremental update. It represents a comeback attempt after the underwhelming Exynos 2500. The inclusion of a new ‘heat pass block’ – a component working like a miniature heat sink – is expected to address the infamous overheating issues that plagued earlier Exynos chips. Analysts also note that the chip could significantly benefit from Samsung’s parallel interest in Intel’s glass substrate technology, potentially improving thermal and power efficiency even further.
The broader implications are big. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series has long enjoyed dominance, while MediaTek has made strides in affordability and performance balance. Samsung’s Exynos 2600 is positioned to shake up the landscape, adding much-needed competition just as TSMC is rumored to be hiking its chip prices in the coming year. Enthusiasts are hopeful this move brings better performance and efficiency to consumers, with rumors swirling that Samsung might even return to experimenting with custom CPUs and GPUs in future iterations.
If the Galaxy S26 series indeed carries the Exynos 2600 in select regions, Samsung’s in-house chip division could be back on track, closing a chapter of setbacks and opening one of renewed innovation. For now, the world watches as the company prepares to make one of its most important flagship decisions in years.

Awesome!! exynos is back, maybe they even bring back custom cpu/gpu 🔥
hope this chip finally matches qualcomm n mediatek, otherwise pointless for consumers
been waiting for samsung to prove exynos isnt just hot garbage, pls dont disappoint again 🙏
competition is always good, qualcomm been too comfy lately
they already switched to tsmc’s n3b node with arrow lake, samsung gotta catch up fast
