Just ahead of IFA 2025, HMD’s upcoming Pulse 2 Pro has surfaced online, courtesy of a Swiss retailer listing that leaves very little to the imagination.
The listing not only confirms detailed specifications but also provides clear images, showing how the Finnish brand is shaping its next budget contender.
The Pulse 2 Pro (TA-1687) will be available in Black and Green colorways and introduces a redesigned camera module. Unlike its predecessor, the new dual-tone island carries two vertically aligned sensors with an LED flash. The main highlight is a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a rare feature in this segment. On the front, HMD opted for a generous 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution. A punch-hole cutout holds another 50MP sensor for selfies, though the sizeable chin remains a reminder of its budget positioning.
Under the hood, the device runs on a Unisoc T615 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD. Powering it all is a 5,000 mAh battery, with fast charging mentioned but not yet specified. Software-wise, the phone will ship with Android 15 out of the box, ensuring up-to-date features and security support. Dimensions stand at 166.14 x 76.58 x 8.3 mm with a weight of 198 grams, keeping it fairly slim for the capacity offered.
The listing also reveals pricing: CHF 169, roughly €180 or $211, placing it firmly in the entry-level market. A formal launch is expected at IFA Berlin, where HMD will likely highlight its affordability and long-term update promise. Still, not everyone is convinced – critics already label it as yet another disposable budget phone. Many argue HMD should channel its efforts into reviving stronger lines like the Skyline instead of pushing devices that risk being forgotten among countless low-cost Androids.
