Poco has officially introduced the Poco C85, the newest entry in its budget-friendly C-series lineup. True to its category, this phone is aimed at consumers looking for an affordable device that balances modern design and essential features, though it skips 5G connectivity entirely. 
Instead, it focuses on delivering solid day-to-day performance and long-lasting battery life.
At the heart of the Poco C85 lies MediaTek’s Helio G81-Ultra chipset, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and storage options of 128GB or 256GB. This combination ensures smooth performance for basic multitasking, streaming, and casual gaming. The device sports a generous 6.9-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 720×1600, a fluid 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling, and a respectable peak brightness of 810 nits, making it usable even under direct sunlight.
For photography, Poco has equipped the C85 with a 50MP main rear camera that should satisfy casual photographers, accompanied by an 8MP selfie camera for video calls and social media shots. Powering all of this is a massive 6,000 mAh battery, complemented by 33W wired fast charging – an impressive combination at this price point that promises extended use without frequent recharges.
The phone includes practical touches such as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, a 3.5mm headphone jack for those who still prefer wired audio, and an IP64 rating that offers basic protection against dust and water splashes. Measuring 171.56 x 79.47 x 7.99 mm and weighing 205 grams, it comes in three color finishes: purple, black, and green.
If the Poco C85 feels familiar, that’s because it essentially mirrors the Redmi 15C 4G, released earlier in August. Beyond the cosmetic changes in branding and available colors, the hardware is virtually identical, making this a rebranded sibling rather than an entirely new device. For many, this isn’t surprising – Xiaomi and Poco often share devices across their portfolios, tailoring them for slightly different audiences.
With pricing expected to stay competitive, especially compared to the Redmi 15C 4G, the Poco C85 will likely appeal to budget-conscious buyers who prioritize battery life, large displays, and a recognizable design over cutting-edge technology.
