Lenovo is preparing to unveil the next generation of its gaming handheld at IFA Berlin this September.
Following the prototype reveal earlier this year at CES, the upcoming Lenovo Legion Go 2 looks set to bring major hardware upgrades while retaining the familiar design of its predecessor.
According to leaked marketing materials shared by tipster Evan Blass, the Legion Go 2 will be powered by AMD’s new Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip, built on Zen 5 CPU cores and RDNA 3.5 graphics. This setup includes the Radeon 890M GPU, promising a significant leap in graphical performance for handheld gaming.
On the design side, Lenovo has opted to keep the recognizable form factor of the original Legion Go but has made several refinements. The device is expected to feature an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 1600p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and a new fingerprint-resistant coating. It will also include a fingerprint reader, an improved rear button layout, and detachable controllers.
The Legion Go 2 is rumored to ship with up to 32GB of RAM and as much as 2TB of internal storage. The prototype shown at CES featured a 74Whr battery with 65W fast charging support. Out of the box, the device will likely run Windows 11 Home, positioning it as a direct rival to the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally in the growing handheld PC market.
With its upgraded chip, sharper display, and expanded memory options, the Legion Go 2 could become one of the most powerful portable gaming machines announced at IFA 2025.
