Skate Early Access Launches This September with a Full Seasonal Roadmap
While the studio hasn’t locked in a full 1.0 release date yet, the team has outlined a clear seasonal roadmap that sets the stage for how the game will grow in the months and years ahead.

At launch, players can dive straight into the rebuilt flick-it controls powered by EA’s Frostbite engine. Whether you’re new to the series or a veteran from the earlier playtests, you’ll be able to revisit the iconic gameplay with the help of the in-game Skatepedia, a comprehensive guide for mastering tricks. For those who participated in the closed tests, the current build is essentially what you’ve already been playing – everyone else will get their first taste for free starting mid-September.

The first seasonal update arrives in October 2025. Season 1 will bring the debut of the Skate Pass (a battle pass system), along with two themed events including a Halloween celebration, plus new skate spots, challenges, cosmetics, music tracks, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. Each subsequent season will follow a similar structure, ensuring that the game evolves continuously.

Season 2, set for December 2025, will expand the experience with co-op gameplay, enhanced editing tools for sharing clips, and new tricks to add to your repertoire. Moving into 2026, Season 3 is shaping up to be the biggest leap yet – adding fresh game modes, leaderboards, deeper skater customization, player-created parks, and even more tricks to keep the community grinding.

EA and Full Circle are clearly aiming to treat Skate as a living platform, with each season layering in new features and events. The early access approach might not deliver everything at once, but it promises steady evolution for fans eager to see the franchise back on its board.
