Eddy Cue, head of Apple’s Services division, is advocating for a bold move: acquiring AI companies to bolster Apple’s AI capabilities and take on its competitors. 
He believes that purchasing companies like Perplexity and Mistral could give Apple a strong advantage in the battle for generative AI and search supremacy.
Perplexity, an up-and-coming challenger to Google Search, has garnered attention with backing from big names like Nvidia and Jeff Bezos.
