MB&F and Yinka Ilori Unveil Vibrant ‘Grow Your Dreams’ Watches

MB&F has once again pushed the boundaries of playful horology with its latest capsule series, the M.A.D.Editions x Yinka Ilori M.A.D.1S ‘Grow Your Dreams’ watches. Following the launch of the M.A.D.2 earlier this year, the Geneva-based brand teams up with British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori MBE to deliver a trio of dazzling creations – Sun, Nature, and Water – each limited to just 400 pieces.

Unlike the first M.A.D.1 editions, which featured Miyota movements with dual rotating rings, these new models are built on MB&F’s updated M.A.D.1S platform powered by the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret Caliber G101.

The slimmer case profile (42mm by 15mm) and upside-down movement orientation remain, ensuring the rotor steals the show under the front crystal. Specs include a 68-hour power reserve and 28,800 vph frequency – though here, it’s the design that takes center stage.

Ilori’s influence is unmistakable. Each bezel is decorated with colorful HyCeram ceramic accents, while the crowns display three tree silhouettes against a bold yellow backdrop. The numerals and markers are reimagined in Ilori’s playful typography, trading minimalist bars for squiggly S-shaped half-hour markers

. Even the rotors embrace this spirit: crafted in titanium, anodized in vivid hues (yellow for Sun, green for Nature, blue for Water), and inscribed with Ilori’s mantra “Grow Your Dreams” in glowing Super-LumiNova.

The case construction combines sapphire and mineral glass, striking a balance between durability and affordability, while water resistance remains modest at 30 meters. Straps complete the transformation – two quick-change rubber bands per watch, one in mismatched two-tone colors and another in pure white, both embossed with a leaf pattern for a tactile finish.

$3,970 USD), the collection reinforces MB&F’s M.A.D.Editions ethos: making avant-garde mechanical art slightly more accessible, though still exclusive. As tradition dictates, MB&F insiders get first dibs, while the remaining watches will be distributed to the public via a raffle running September 2–8, 2025.
