Samsung’s Galaxy Ultra line has long carried the DNA of the Galaxy Note, but that legacy appears to be fading with each new generation. The Galaxy S25 Ultra already softened its look by ditching the sharp corners of the S24 Ultra for gentler edges, making it less punishing on the palms while still retaining some identity.
Now, leaks suggest the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra will push even further away from that boxy Note aesthetic.
Renowned leaker Ice Universe claims the S26 Ultra will feature even rounder corners than its predecessor, bringing it visually closer to the standard Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus
. While the S24 Ultra’s aggressive geometry gave it a professional, almost industrial feel, user comfort seems to be the new guiding principle.
Samsung is also rumored to be trimming bezels to make room for a slightly larger 6.89-inch screen, up from the S25 Ultra’s 6.86-inch panel, without making the phone bulkier. Another design shift could be the return of a raised camera island, housing the main, ultrawide, and 5x telephoto lenses. This change reportedly allows for upgraded camera hardware, moving away from the floating lens design Samsung has used recently.
Spec leaks point to the S26 Ultra being thinner and lighter, powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 and paired with next-gen RAM for smoother multitasking. A new feature, Flex Magic Pixel technology, may also debut – designed to make onlookers’ snooping much harder by subtly limiting viewing angles.
All told, the Galaxy S26 Ultra seems like a device focused on refinement rather than reinvention. While critics argue that the changes amount to only small tweaks, for users who care about comfort, usability, and camera performance, those details could add up to a more polished flagship experience.
