DICE is reshaping Battlefield 6 after its open beta, taking community feedback to heart and promising a smoother, more tactical experience.

Millions of hours were played and streamed, but one theme rang loudest: movement needed tuning.

Players complained that sliding into jumps felt too fast and unpredictable. DICE now confirms horizontal momentum is being reduced, repeated jumps will carry penalties, and accuracy will drop when firing mid-slide or mid-air. The studio says the goal is to keep movement skillful but less chaotic. Parachute physics are also being adjusted to allow more controlled descents.

Beyond movement, maps and modes are also evolving. While the beta emphasized tighter arenas, larger battlefields are on the way, including the newly revealed Mirak Valley and a reimagined Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3. Both will feature the full range of vehicles and broader combat zones designed for classic Battlefield moments.

Rush mode, a community favorite dating back to Bad Company, is being recalibrated. Larger player counts in the past created frustrating stalemates, so DICE is dialing things back to smaller, more tactical encounters by default. Expect 8v8 setups for modes like Team Death Match and Domination, while the Portal will still allow players to experiment with bigger Rush battles.

DICE also reassured fans that its roadmap remains packed, with a legacy pass, returning maps like Iwo Jima, and cross-rewards across Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 2042 leading up to launch. The studio emphasizes it will keep testing and adjusting through Battlefield Labs events, ensuring that feedback continues to shape the future of the game.

Early impressions from the beta remain optimistic: Battlefield 6 offers cinematic destruction, intense firefights, and – despite its rough edges – the most fun shooter experience many fans say they’ve had this year.

beta was fun af but waiting 3-4 mins to join every match killed the vibe.. hope that’s not how it is on launch

ngl the whole ‘firing while sliding is inaccurate’ thing.. wouldnt it just be easier to say ‘accuracy goes down’? lol
