Squanch Games has finally revealed the long-awaited release date for the highly anticipated High on Life 2. The first-person shooter comedy sequel will officially launch on February 13, 2026, much to the excitement of fans.
This update was shared through an Xbox Wire post, which also provided fresh details about the cast, gameplay, and new additions to the universe.
The original High on Life, released in 2022, garnered widespread attention for its quirky humor, a cast of talking guns, and its unique gameplay experience. The game quickly became one of the most successful Game Pass launches, and its success led to the announcement of a follow-up show in 2024.
Fans of the first game can expect more laughs, wild moments, and a new slew of bizarre characters in High on Life 2. One exciting addition to the cast is Ralph Ineson, known for his roles in Final Fantasy 16 and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He’ll voice the new character, Sheath, a boss players will encounter early on in the game. Ineson joins a cast that includes returning voices like Betsy Sodaro as Sweezy and J.B. Smoove as Gus. Additionally, Richard Kind of Inside Out and A Bug’s Life fame will voice Senator Muppy Doo.
When High on Life 2 was initially announced at the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, it was confirmed that it would be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S, alongside Game Pass. Originally slated for release in late 2025, the release has been slightly delayed to early 2026.
Fans of the first game will find familiar humor and gameplay, but with even more random and hilarious elements. And speaking of humor, the original game was packed with comedic gems, including the ability to watch an entire movie within the game itself, as well as the option to listen to RedLetterMedia’s commentary on a different film. It’s likely that these quirky additions will return for the sequel, ensuring that the laughs continue.
Despite the fun and laughter, the development of High on Life 2 has not been without its challenges. One significant change came when Justin Roiland, the co-creator of Rick and Morty and former CEO of Squanch Games, resigned in early 2023 after being charged with domestic battery and false imprisonment. Though the charges were dropped, Roiland’s departure marked a shift for the studio.
High on Life 2 will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox platforms, with a release slated for February 2026. In the meantime, players can revisit the original game on Xbox Game Pass, which made a return to the service last month. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out IGN’s reviews of both the original game (8/10) and its DLC, High on Knife (6/10).

The game was really fun, just not my thing though. But I gotta admit, watching an entire movie in the game and having RedLetterMedia commentary was a cool feature. Hope they keep the random humor going in the sequel!
