Google has officially taken the wraps off the Pixel 10 series at its Made by Google event in Brooklyn, confirming much of what leaks had already suggested.

The standard Pixel 10, once the modest entry in the lineup, now makes a bold leap by introducing a telephoto lens for the first time. This shift narrows the gap between the base and Pro models, raising questions about how Google plans to differentiate the higher tiers.

The Pixel 10 looks familiar at first glance, keeping the iconic visor-style design, but the rear camera bar now packs three shooters: a 48 MP main sensor, a 13 MP ultrawide, and a 10.8 MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. It’s a surprising move for a base Pixel, considering such zoom capabilities were usually reserved for Pro devices. The trade-off? The ultrawide has been slightly downgraded compared to the Pixel 9. Up front, the phone gets a 10.5 MP selfie camera with autofocus.

Under the hood, the Pixel 10 debuts the Tensor G5, built on TSMC’s 3nm process, alongside the Titan M2 security chip. It ships with 12 GB of RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The 6.3-inch Actua display continues at 120Hz with Full HD+ resolution, now brighter at up to 2,000 nits, though it sticks with LTPS tech rather than LTPO, limiting its adaptive refresh range.

Other highlights include an improved ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a bigger 4,970 mAh battery with 29W wired charging and new 15W Qi2 wireless support. Qi2 is also making its Pixel debut, finally ensuring proper compatibility with the Pixelsnap accessory ecosystem launched at the event.

As expected, Google promises seven years of OS and security updates, launching with Android 16. The Pixel 10 comes in Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass, and Obsidian, starting at $799 for the 128 GB model and $899 for 256 GB. Pre-orders are already live in select regions, though availability in markets like Indonesia remains unconfirmed.

For the price, the Pixel 10 delivers more power and versatility than ever before in Google’s entry line. With triple cameras, long-term software support, and a refreshed design, it may put pressure not just on rivals like Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Pro, but also on Google’s own Pro lineup.
