Gamescom ONL 2025 wasn’t short on surprises, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle ended up stealing a big part of the spotlight. Fans finally got a fresh look at the long-awaited Order of the Giants DLC, which drops September 4 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
But the bigger shock? The whip-cracking archaeologist is officially making his way to Nintendo’s next-gen handheld-console hybrid: the Nintendo Switch 2.
MachineGames’ reimagining of Indy has already proven itself as a technical showcase on powerful PCs and current-gen hardware, but bringing that cinematic experience to a portable platform is a whole different challenge. We don’t yet know what trade-offs the developers made to get it running on Switch 2, but the idea of exploring lost temples and battling giants on the go is more than a little tempting. Sadly, Switch 2 owners will need to be patient – this version isn’t landing alongside the September DLC release and is instead slated for sometime in 2026.
The Order of the Giants expansion promises massive environments, fresh story beats, and even more of the signature mix of puzzles, exploration, and combat that made the base game stand out. For those already deep into the adventure on other platforms, the DLC is just around the corner. For those waiting on Switch 2, it’s shaping up to be one of the platform’s most ambitious ports yet – and possibly a defining title for Nintendo’s new hardware.
