James Gunn’s Superman has taken the DC Universe by storm, and now fans can continue the fun with the new animated series, Krypto Saves the Day! The first episode, titled School Bus Scuffle, premiered today on YouTube. 
This short film is part of a four-part animated series that will be included with the digital and physical releases of the upcoming Superman movie, slated for digital release on August 15, 2025, and physical release on September 23, 2025.
School Bus Scuffle follows Krypto, Superman’s loyal canine companion, as he tries to save the day in his own unique way. With his laser eyes and x-ray vision, Krypto attempts to stop a pigeon from causing trouble but fails hilariously. Though the short doesn’t offer any major DCU revelations, it’s a charming and lighthearted addition that lets fans enjoy more of Krypto’s antics. The episode sets the tone for what’s to come in the Krypto Saves the Day! series, which promises fun-filled adventures for all ages.
The series will include the following episodes:
- Episode 2: Halloween Havoc
- Episode 3: Package Pandemonium
- Episode 4: Coastal Catastrophe
Fans will be able to enjoy School Bus Scuffle upon the digital release of Superman’s movie, while the remaining episodes will roll out individually throughout 2026. The series promises a variety of exciting and comedic adventures, from school bus rescues to Spring Break cruise ship saves and even Halloween candy crises.
Superman’s cinematic debut was a huge hit, grossing over $580 million globally. While the movie’s run in theaters is wrapping up, fans can look forward to the digital release in just a few days. Superman’s journey doesn’t stop there, though, as Gunn is already planning the next chapter for the Super-Family.
