While we can’t disclose every detail just yet, here’s a sneak peek at what the device looks like and some of its standout features.

Let’s start with the design. The rear of the device carries a look we’ve seen before in models from brands like Oppo and Vivo. The camera setup features a rectangular island at the top left, housing three circular camera lenses arranged vertically. Interestingly, the camera island here is made from aluminum, which gives it a premium feel.

On the Frosted White version we have today, there’s an icy pattern that adds a unique touch. Other color options include Midnight Black, which has a simple, sleek black finish, and Sandy Purple, designed to mimic the look of sand dunes. The phone’s aesthetics offer a nice mix of elegance and subtlety.

Turning to the front, the Redmi 15 5G is equipped with a massive 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD screen. It boasts a 144Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and gaming smoother. However, don’t expect bezel-less perfection here. The bezels are noticeable but not out of place for a budget phone.

One of the key features of the Redmi 15 5G is its enormous 7000mAh battery. Xiaomi touts this as the only silicon-carbon battery in this price segment, claiming that it can maintain 80% of its capacity after over 4 years of use. The phone also doubles as a power bank, supporting 18W reverse wired charging. As for the device’s own charging capabilities, it supports 33W fast charging, and Xiaomi includes a matching charger in the box.

Under the hood, the Redmi 15 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and comes with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 pre-installed. Xiaomi has promised two years of major OS updates and four years of security patches. For photography, the phone features a 50MP rear camera, while also offering IP64-rated ingress protection and Dolby-certified audio for an immersive audio experience.

Officially launching on August 19, the Redmi 15 5G will bring more insights in the coming days. Stay tuned for more details.

Is it just me or does this look like a knockoff of Oppo’s designs? 🤷‍♂️

If the camera is decent, this might be a game changer for mid-range phones
