Google has started rolling out a new feature in Search called Preferred Sources for users in the US and India, giving people more control over the news and information they see first.

With this update, you can set your favorite sites as preferred, and Google will prioritize their content in the Top stories section and a dedicated From your sources area within search results.

Setting it up is simple: click the small icon to the right of Top stories, search for the sites you want, and select them. Once you refresh the page, you’ll instantly see more from those sources, and your choices will be remembered for future searches. You can choose as many preferred sources as you want, and you can update your list anytime.

Google says this won’t completely block content from other sites – it just highlights your favorites more prominently. While some users welcome the change for better personalization, others remain skeptical, suggesting it’s another way for Google to collect more data about user preferences.
