The latest update to HWiNFO, version 8.30, has arrived with support for NVIDIA’s newly launched GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 graphics card and early recognition of Intel’s upcoming Nova Lake CPUs.
The GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 made its retail debut today in China, just a week after its official unveiling. This model replaces the previously banned RTX 5090 D and comes with scaled-back specs – lower VRAM capacity, reduced memory bus width, and decreased memory bandwidth – while retaining the same shader count as the full RTX 5090. The changes align with US export restrictions, but the price remains steep, starting at around US$2,880 according to Colorful’s listings, matching the cost of the faster, unrestricted model.
With the HWiNFO update, RTX 5090 D V2 owners can now view accurate, detailed hardware metrics for their GPUs. The database update also adds last month’s GeForce RTX 5050, expanding coverage for NVIDIA’s lineup.
On the CPU side, Intel’s Nova Lake platform has once again appeared in HWiNFO’s release notes, signaling continued development. While early entries were spotted back in February last year, the new listing suggests steady progress toward a 2026 launch window. Expected to arrive in both desktop and mobile forms, Nova Lake could scale from 6-core mobile chips up to 52-core desktop flagships, with rumors of a high-cache ‘Nova Lake AX’ variant still swirling. If the leaks are accurate, Intel may be preparing its biggest architectural jump in years – but the real test will be how it stacks up against rival offerings when it finally launches.
