Pixel Buds 2a Leak Unveils Smaller Wingtips, ANC and New Colors

With Google’s big Pixel launch set for August 20, fresh leaks have spilled even more details about the upcoming Pixel Buds 2a.

These budget-friendly earbuds, rumored to retail for around €150, are taking design inspiration from the premium Pixel Buds Pro 2 while making a few cost-saving changes.

One noticeable tweak is the smaller wingtips compared to the original Pixel Buds A-Series, promising a more comfortable fit for long listening sessions. The charging case mimics the sleek design of the Pro model but is only available in white, while the earbuds themselves will launch in at least two shades: gray and iris. Interestingly, the case’s seal color will match the earbuds inside, though it’s a subtle touch you might miss unless up close. Two additional colors – Fog Light and Hazel – have been mentioned, but images haven’t surfaced yet.

Some budget-conscious compromises are also clear

. The iconic Google “G” logo is now printed rather than embossed, and the external mic grilles plus proximity sensor placements have been altered. Feature-wise, the Pixel Buds 2a drop the adaptive Silent Seal technology and head-tracking for spatial audio. Wireless charging and top-tier battery life are also off the table.

However, the 2a still make notable upgrades over the original A-series, adding Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and basic Spatial Audio support, even if these are more limited compared to the Pro version.

According to leaks, Google will unveil the Pixel Buds 2a alongside the Pixel 10 lineup – including the 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold – as well as the Pixel Watch 4. While the new phones hit shelves on August 28, the Pixel Buds 2a, Pixel Watch 4, and foldable Pixel will reportedly arrive later, on October 9.
