Realme Buds T200 Review: Budget earbuds rarely surprise, but the Realme Buds T200 manage to deliver premium-grade audio for an astonishingly low INR 1,999 (~$23).

While they’re not without flaws, their sound quality is so good it could make you question why you’d pay more.

Design & Comfort

The T200’s case looks like a squarer AirPods Pro shell, with a front LED indicator and USB-C port at the bottom. There’s no pairing button-pairing requires holding both earbuds once removed from the case. Speaking of the case, pulling the buds out can be comically awkward since they sit deep with little to grip.

The earbuds have a simple, lightweight design with color-matched tips and IP55 dust/water resistance. Comfort is excellent thanks to soft ear tips, and the lack of single-tap gestures means fewer accidental inputs. The plastic build is expected at this price, but the glossy finish scratches easily. Color options include Neon Green, Dreamy Purple, Mystic Black, and Snowy White.

Software & Features

Realme Buds T200 work with the Realme Link app, but you must create a Realme account-even on Realme phones-just to unlock full functionality. This forced login feels unnecessary and intrusive. Once inside, you get ANC mode toggles, a six-band EQ, Spatial Audio, LDAC high-definition sound, gesture controls, game mode, dual-device pairing, and even relaxation soundscapes. LDAC is off by default, so the app is essential for getting the most out of the buds.

Performance

Audio Quality

Powered by 12.4mm dynamic drivers and Bluetooth 5.4, the T200 support SBC, AAC, and LDAC (up to 32-bit/96kHz). Sound tuning is exceptional-balanced bass, clear mids, and airy treble with a spacious soundstage. While a touch more upper-mid presence wouldn’t hurt, the EQ can easily fix it. Simply put, they sound far better than anything else in this price range, rivaling products many times more expensive.

Microphone

Mic quality is average: voices are clear indoors but slightly muted in noisy environments. Background noise is reasonably controlled.

Noise Cancellation

ANC is underwhelming, offering minimal reduction in mid/high-frequency noise. Transparency mode is similarly mediocre, with muffled audio that makes removing the buds often the better choice.

Latency & Connectivity

Game mode cuts latency to a claimed 45ms, and even without it, lag is minimal. Connectivity is rock-solid, and multi-device pairing works without a hitch.

Battery Life

With LDAC at 990kbps and ANC on, battery life reached 4h 40m, slightly above Realme’s 4.5h claim. Dropping to 660kbps extended it to 5h 19m, with even more possible at lower bitrates.

Verdict

If you need top-tier ANC, these aren’t for you. But if your priority is phenomenal sound at a rock-bottom price, the Realme Buds T200 are unbeatable. Ignore the forced app login, and you’ll be rewarded with an audio experience that embarrasses far pricier rivals.
