Battlefield 6’s open beta has exploded in popularity on Steam, hitting a staggering peak of over 470,000 concurrent players, with projections suggesting it could break the half-million mark before the beta weekend wraps up. Those who log in this weekend will score exclusive rewards, including the Seeker Soldier and All-Terrain Soldier skins, the Dominion weapon package, two weapon stickers, and the Lights Out player card background.

Next weekend (August 14–17) offers its own loot: the War Machine vehicle skin, Striking Distance weapon package, and the Bat Company dog tag.

Alongside the player surge, the game’s new kernel-level anti-cheat system, Javelin, has been hard at work. The SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team revealed it has already blocked over 330,000 cheating or tampering attempts since early access began. Player reports have also been piling in-44,000 on day one alone and another 60,000 since-helping the developers refine detection methods. The anti-cheat works best when Secure Boot is enabled, which adds another layer of difficulty for cheat developers and improves detection accuracy. Still, the team admits Secure Boot isn’t a silver bullet, but rather one more weapon in their ongoing war against hacks.

Some players remain skeptical about the numbers, pointing out that not every blocked attempt represents an active cheater-some might simply have had incompatible setups or disabled Secure Boot. Others joke about the high volume of cheaters compared to legit players, or lament the state of PC gaming in general. Regardless of the debate, the message from the Battlefield team is clear: when the game officially launches on October 10, they plan to keep the pressure on and give no quarter to cheaters.
