1000xResist, one of 2024’s most striking narrative experiences, is finally making its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 4, 2025. The acclaimed indie title from Canadian studio Sunset Visitor already turned heads on PC and Nintendo Switch, but its arrival on next-gen consoles – and inclusion in Xbox Game Pass – is set to introduce thousands of new players to one of the boldest sci-fi stories of the decade.
Set a thousand years in the future, 1000xResist takes players deep into the psyche of a clone named Iris. 
Humanity teeters on extinction, ruled by a mysterious figure known as ALLMOTHER. Iris and her five identical sisters live under her divine authority – until doubt begins to creep in. Through fragmented memories, whispered rebellion, and haunting echoes of past lives, players unravel a tale that blurs the line between worship and control, truth and delusion.
Beneath its futuristic world of sterile labs and crumbling sanctuaries lies a profoundly human story about grief, sisterhood, and inherited trauma. Sunset Visitor’s narrative design invites comparisons to titles like NieR: Automata and Disco Elysium – games that challenge players to question what identity even means when memory and loyalty can be rewritten. The writing is poetic yet unsettling, making each discovery feel both intimate and devastating.
Despite earning multiple nominations in 2024, many critics felt 1000xResist was unfairly overshadowed by flashier indie darlings. Its upcoming console release offers a second chance for audiences to recognize what some already call a masterpiece in interactive storytelling – an unflinching reflection on obedience, loss, and the fragile illusion of faith in a dying world.
